Shakespeare insult generator

imageA recent post at Anecdotal Evidence describes a student’s enjoyment of a Shakespearean insult generator provided by his teacher: two columns of adjectives and one column of nouns, to be preceded with “Thou” to produce a result like “Thou gorbellied beef-witted hedge-pig!”

Surely, I thought, someone has created an online version of the insult generator, and so it is. Chris Seidel has improved on the generator by providing some new adjectives and nouns, and adding some actual Shakespearean insults like these:

Thou whoreson impudent embossed rascal! (Henry IV, part I)

[Thy] kiss is comfortless as frozen water to a starved snake. (Troilus and Cressida)

Thou elvish-mark’d, abortive, rooting hog! (Richard III)

There’s no more faith in thee than in a stewed prune. (Henry V)
